Basith Zarook 

DIRECTOR

Basith Zarook is an Entrepreneur, Certified Graduate Gemologist GIA (USA), Life member of Gemologists Association (Sri Lanka),and Co-Founder & Director of Powerhouse Ventures, coming from a family with deep roots in Sri Lanka’s renowned gemstone industry. With a lifelong exposure to the world of precious gemstones and luxury trade, he has developed a strong understanding of gems, international markets, client relations, and high-value business negotiations from an early stage of his career.

Combining traditional industry knowledge with a modern entrepreneurial mindset, Basith has built extensive experience across the gemstone, jewellery, and business sectors, working closely with entrepreneurs, investors, collectors, luxury buyers, and international clients. His expertise as a certified gemologist, together with his strong business acumen and relationship-building skills, has enabled him to establish trusted connections both locally and globally.

Over the years, he has been actively involved in sourcing, evaluating, and dealing with some of Sri Lanka’s finest natural gemstones, while also expanding his network through strategic partnerships and business collaborations across multiple industries. His ability to identify opportunities, build lasting relationships, and connect people and businesses has become one of his strongest professional strengths.

Today, as the Co-Founder & Director of Powerhouse Ventures, Basith brings together his industry expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and global network to facilitate meaningful partnerships, business expansions, and investment opportunities between brands, entrepreneurs, and international businesses.

Azra Reyaldeen 

DIRECTOR

Azra Reyaldeen is an Entrepreneur and Co-Founder & Director of Powerhouse Ventures with over two decades of professional experience built through dedication, resilience, and working her way up across the corporate and government sectors.

She began her career in banking with a multinational corporation before moving into Executive Assistant and senior administrative leadership roles, working closely with top C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. Over the years, her career exposed her to strategic business operations, corporate management, stakeholder relations, and high-level decision-making, giving her a deep understanding of business growth and expansion.

Her journey later extended into the government sector, where she served as Private Secretary to a Cabinet Minister who held multiple key national portfolios. The role provided her with extensive exposure to governance, international relations, public administration, and large-scale strategic operations, while also allowing her to build strong connections with influential business leaders, diplomats, investors, and professionals both locally and internationally.

In addition to her corporate and entrepreneurial journey, Azra has also made a significant contribution to the professional administrative community, having served as President of the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries and President of the Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals in Asia Pacific.

In recognition of her leadership, business acumen, and contribution to professional excellence, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Kennedy University Paris. 

Azra is also the Co-Founder & Director of Maison D’or a bespoke luxury jewellery house specializing in custom-crafted fine jewellery designed around the emotions, stories, and individuality of each client. Built on the philosophy that jewellery should be deeply personal and meaningful, Maison D’or creates timeless pieces tailored to suit each client’s taste, style, and personal journey, using natural diamonds and exceptional Ceylon gemstones.
